Ross Margolies is the founder and portfolio manager of Stelliam Investment Management, a long-short and long-equity investment management firm based in New York. Prior to founding Stelliam in 2006, Margolies managed a variety of investment strategies (including long-short equity, long equity, long convertibles, asset allocation and multistrategy arbitrage). In 1992 he was with Salomon Brothers Asset Management (a unit of Citigroup, where he was a group managing director) and later with its spin-out, Saranac Capital Management. Before joining Salomon Brothers, he was a senior vice president and high-yield bond analyst at Lehman Brothers.

Margolies serves on the Johns Hopkins University's board of trustees and the advisory board of the university's Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. Margolies received a BA from Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from New York University.
