Pornhub (yes that Pornhub) is offering $25,000 to a woman who wants to pursue education in STEM fields science, technology, engineering and math — no strings attached.

"Women have long been vastly underrepresented in the technology industry as well as in the math, science and engineering industries," Pornhub vice president Corey Price said in an email to CNBC. "We wanted to do our part in encouraging, and ultimately cultivating, world-class female talent in these fields."

Despite making up a little under half of the workforce, women make up only 39 percent of chemists and material scientists, 28 percent of environmental scientists and geoscientists, 16 percent of chemical engineers and 12 percent of civil engineers, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

This is the second annual scholarship under the Pornhub Cares initiative. While the website and company is adults only, applicants for its scholarship do not have to be in the adult entertainment fields.

"Quite simply it's our way of giving back to our fans and the community," Price said. "We wanted to initiate meaningful change around the world and through our philanthropic endeavors we have provided happiness and, ultimately, changed lives. It's something we are especially excited to continue and encourage our fans to be on the lookout for our next initiative."

To apply for the scholarship, women must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, be currently enrolled in full-time in an accredited post-secondary school, be in a STEM-related field and be 18 or older. The deadline to apply is Nov. 30. The scholarship winner will be announced in December.

Pornhub has also run other less safe-for-work charitable initiatives including donating money to cancer charities for every breast-themed clip watched during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and working with PETA to help spay pets. It also added audio descriptions to its pornographic videos to help the visually impaired community.
