Investors should not buy a stock based on seasonal analysis alone, but it is a fun and often educational exercise to see whether certain markets and stocks perform better during certain times of the year.

And sometimes there is something legitimate to seasonal patterns, whether it's temperatures influencing natural gas prices or holiday shopping periods regularly swinging retail shares.
