Two dead, multiple injured in Wash. HS shooting

Two people died in a high school shooting incident in Washington state, including the gunman, police said on Friday.

The shooter was a student at the school, they added. It was not immediately clear whether the second deceased person was student or staff.

Seattle NBC affiliate KING said four injured students were in hospital and three of them were in surgery.

The station reported that the shooter was a freshman and a member of the school's football and wrestling teams. They also said that police believe a social media spat over a girl may have led to the shooting.

The FBI in Seattle confirmed it was sending personnel to the scene to assist local law enforcement. A White House official told NBC that President Obama had been briefed on the incident.

Marysville is about 20 miles northeast of Seattle.
